Hi, I’m Maria

The person behind Quietly Grounded
I’m a mindfulness and meditation teacher in training, business owner and someone who knows only too well what it feels like to have a head full of thoughts and a life that rarely seems to stand still.

Mindfulness and meditation have been part of my life for many years, but I’ve never been interested in making them complicated.

For me, mindfulness is about learning to slow things down a little. To notice what’s happening rather than constantly rushing on to the next thing. To create a little more space between all the thinking, planning, doing and worrying that can fill an ordinary day.

That’s what led me to create Quietly Grounded.

Mindfulness for real life

You don’t need to be good at sitting still.

You don’t need to empty your mind.

And you definitely don’t need to become a completely different person.

Quietly Grounded is about practical, approachable mindfulness for everyday people and everyday lives.

There might be guided meditation, conversation, quiet reflection, a poem or story, or simply an opportunity to stop for a while.

Some sessions will be in person, others online. Over time, I’d also love Quietly Grounded to become a small community with women’s circles, book clubs, planning and accountability sessions and other opportunities to come together.

There’s no pressure to be anything other than yourself.

A little about me

My working life has always revolved around people. I’ve spent more than 25 years working with clients, running businesses and building relationships, and today I also run a specialist recruitment business alongside my work in the wellbeing industry.

I’ve previously trained in NLP and life coaching, and I’m currently completing my formal Mindfulness and Meditation Teacher Training. Those different experiences have taught me something quite simple: sometimes we don’t need another thing to achieve or another problem to solve.

You’re very welcome here

Quietly Grounded is still growing and that’s intentional.

I’m not interested in creating somewhere intimidating, overly spiritual or full of rules about how mindfulness should look.

I want it to feel warm, down-to-earth and welcoming, whether you’ve been meditating for years or have absolutely no idea where to begin.

You can come to a session, join me online, attend one of our gatherings or simply follow along for now.

Come as you are.
